Final Day: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Well our For the Love of Scrapbooking Sale has come to an end. On this last day I'd like to tell you about one of the newer products that we've started carrying at the store....Spellbinders. Spellbinders are a metal die cut that cuts shapes out of paper. What is a little different about Spellbinders die is that many of the dies also offer an embossing feature that can be used after you've cut out your shape.

You can also use the die as a stencil and add colour and ink to your shape once it has been cut out. These additional options make the Spellbinders a very unique die cutting system. Whether you use the shapes in your layouts or on your cards, Spellbinders are a great tool to use in your craft making.

Spellbinders also offer embossing plates very similar to the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders. One feature that I like about the Spellbinders embossing plates is that if you ink them before you emboss them, you end up with a letterpress effect. The ink transfers to your paper and the die debosses at the same time. It's a pretty neat technique that will have everyone wondering how you did it.

So for this last day of our sale, you can pick up any Spellbinders die in the store for 20% off regular price. I hope you've enjoyed our For the Love of Scrapbooking posts about some of our favourite products to use in our scrapbooking and card making.

Day 13: For the Love of Scrapbooking

There are only 2 days left to come in to the store and take advantage of the sale prices that we have offered on some fabulous products. For today's blog post like I'd like to tell you about one of my favourite Ranger products...Glossy Accents. Glossy Accents is a dimensional medium that you can use in many different ways.

It can be used as an adhesive and for this purpose it is absolutely fabulous. It holds down everything...I've even used it to fix broken ceramic ornaments around my house. If you want to add glitter to a project, I find that Glossy Accents is one of the best adhesives out there to use. You do have to be patient and let it dry but once it dries, it holds your glitter in place.

My favourite way to use my glossy accents is to add a little gloss or shine to my chipboard. Whether I've painted or inked naked chipboard OR use ready made chipboard....I love adding Glossy Accents as a top coat. It not only adds a glossy finish but it also adds some dimension. You can do this with other embellishments as well, buttons, stickers, flowers etc.

The final way that I love to use my glossy accents is to add some dimension or shine to patterned papers. If there is a patterned paper that I've picked out and I want to accent some of the images, I just trace them with my glossy accents and it just gives my paper a little extra bit of a pop.

The accents line offered by Ranger also includes a Crackle Accent which is similar to the Glossy Accents only it cracks as it drys. There is also a Sepia Accent, which gives your projects and aged look and a Matte Accent.

Come on in to the store and check out some samples of ways to use the Glossy Accents. You can also pick up any of the Ranger Accents line in the store on sale for $7.50 which is a savings of $2 a bottle. Check back tomorrow where I'll tell you about one of my newer favourite products on the last day of our For the Love of Scrapbooking Sale.

Day 12: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Well, we are getting down to the final 3 days of our sale and it's been a fun way for me to tell you about some of my favourite products. For today's post I'm going to tell you about Clearsnap Cat's Eye Ink Pads.

These are one of my favourite inks for edging my papers. Why? Because they are so inexpensive that I can buy 3 or 4 colours for the price of one large stamp pad. And the good news is that I can stamp with the Cat's Eye Ink Pads too.

They are available in a ton of colours which makes it easier for me to match it up to my papers. One of the other things I love about them is that I don't need an applicator tool to apply these to my edges. They add a nice little edge and I love the look of the inked papers on my layouts.

So for the duration of our sale, come in to the store and stock up on these great little ink pads for 2 for $5. Check back tomorrow for the second last day of our product reveals.

Day 11: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Only 3 days left after today before the end of our sale, so if you're planning on getting in to take advantage of these awesome sales....don't wait much longer. For today's blog post...I'm going to start off by saying two words...Tim Holtz. He is quite possibly one of the most amazing and unique designers in our industry. His products are awesome, as many of you know, and his creativity is unbelievable. Tim has aligned himself with some awesome manufacturerer's and has released some amazing products over the last couple of years. From Ranger ( distress inks) to Advantus (ideology embellishments) to Stamper's Anonymous (stamps), Tim has dabbled in a little bit of everything.

In our store we carry quite a lot of the Tim Holtz products. We have all of his Distress Inks, Distress Stickles, Crackle Paint, Grungeboard, tools, and his ideology embellishments. I'm happy to say we will be adding even more after this year's CHA show in Anaheim...including the 12 new Distress Ink colours.

You can check him out on You Tube and watch him demo some of his latest products. These videos are great for learning how to use some of his products and integrating them into your scrapbooking and cardmaking. During our sale, all of Tim's products that we carry in the store are 20% off regular price. That is everything except the Grungeboard...the Grungeboard is 25% off regular price. Check back tomorrow for another one of our favourite products that we have featured during our For the Love of Scrapbooking sale.

Day 10: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Today's post will be short but sweet because I'm going to tell you about Bazzill cardstock. For most scrapbookers, like myself, Bazzill is their go to cardstock. This is one product that I cannot scrapbook without.

I love the textured look I get on my layouts when I use Bazzill cardstock. I love the Bling cardstock, shaped cardstock and edged cardstock. There is nothing I don't love about Bazzill cardstock. I love that I can pretty much match any patterned paper out there with a solid cardstock from Bazzill. The colour selection and texture selection is absolutely amazing.

So up until February 14th, all the Bazzill cardstock in the store is on sale 2 for $1.00...that includes the Bling cardstock and the shaped cardstock as well. It is a perfect time to stock up your cardstock stash.

Day 9: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Yesterday I told you I was going to tell you about one of Stephanie's favourite card making products so here it is....Peel Off Stickers. For those of you who don't know what Peel Offs are, they are a very thin outline sticker that you can then fill in with markers or water colour pencil crayons. You can also leave them blank...it is entirely up to you.

The Peel Off Stickers also come in many different sayings and holiday greetings...from Thanks to Congratulations to Season's Greetings in different fonts. There are literally so many different Peel Offs to choose from that you won't miss a holdiay or sentiment. They come in silver, gold or black and you can change the colour of the stickers simply using the Identi-pens. The pens come in a pack of 8 or are sold individually. You just colour over your Peel Off Sticker and voila, your sticker will change to suit any patterned paper that you are working with.

The nice thing about the Peel Off Stickers are they add a nice clean embossed look without having to pull out the heat gun. Everyone will ask you how you did it. So stop in and check out these quick and easy stickers that will add a little pop to your greeting cards. For the duration of our sale the entire collection of Peel Off Stickers that we have in the store are 20% off regular price.

Today, I'm going to tell you about another one of my favourite manufacturers...Fancy Pants Designs. It seems that lately I have been using quite a bit of their patterned paper and embellishments in my scrapbooking. This year Fancy Pants had one of my favourite Halloween lines EVER!!!

Fancy Pants always seems to have some of the nicest patterned papers out there and they also co-ordinate some awesome embellishments with their paper lines. My favourite embellishment has to be the glitter cuts. For those of you who don't know about these, they are an awesome clear die cut embellished with glitter. They are awesome! Fancy Pants embellishments also include ribbon, buttons, chipboard, overlays, rub-ons and the greatest little journal tag books.

Day 7: For the Love of Scrapbooking

For all you cardmakers out there, today's featured product is right up your alley. As many of you know, Stephanie designs all of our card classes and she does an amazing job. One of her favourite products to use in these classes are the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders. These folders are a super easy way to add texture to any patterned paper or cardstock paper in mere seconds. And what a difference such a simple process makes in the appearance of your cards.

The Cuttlebug Embossing Folders are manufactured by Provo Craft and come in many different textures, including dots, flowers, swirls etc. They are also available as borders as well. You can use them to add texture to the base of your cards or even to add texture to paper flowers or paper shapes.

Right now during our For the Love of Scrapbooking sale, you can pick up Cuttlebug Embossing Folders for 2 for $6. That is a savings of almost $2 each. Check back tomorrow for another great product that we simply cannot live without.

Day 6: For the Love of Scrapbooking

I'd like to talk to you today about Stickles. Stickles are manufactured by Ranger Ink and they are similar to glitter glue. They come in at least 38 amazing colours and are a great way to add a little bling bling to any card or scrapbook layout.

I absolutely love using my Stickles to add a little dimension to my projects. My favourite Stickle to use is Crystal. I've gone through many bottles of this one colour. I've used it on top of chipboard, to accent the centres of my flowers or just using it to accent my patterned paper. I can't get enough of this stuff. I just wish they would dry faster....hee hee. But that doesn't stop me from using them.

So for the duration of our sale, you can pick up Stickles here at the store on sale for 2 for $5. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for another great product that I simply cannot scrapbook without.

Day 5: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Well, it's time for a post about another great product that we have on sale here at the store druing our For the Love of Scrapbooking Sale. Today I'd like to tell you all about Bazzill Lickity Slip Albums. These albums are of course manufactured by Bazzill and they are a d-ring binder album. They come in various colours and are covered with Bazzill cardstock paper. The cool thing about these albums is that they come with two different page protectors.

They have the traditional 12x12 page protector, along with, a 12x12 page protector that is divided into five 4x6 slots and 1 2x12 slot. I love that about these albums and that is why I've used them for a couple of family vacations that we have done. The reason I used this album is because like many of you I take way too many pictures when I'm on vacation. And the thought of scrapbooking ALL those pictures seems like such a daunting task to me. So what I do is I pick out my favourite pictures and do 12x12 layouts using those. The remaining pictures that I don't use in my layouts, I store in the page protectors that are divided with the 4x6 slots and they go in the back of my scrapbook album. That way when we are looking at all the pictures from our vacation they are all together in one scrapbook.

So as part of our sale, up until February 14th, we have the Bazzill Lickity Slip Albums on sale. When you buy any album, we will give you a pack of the matching refills for FREE. That is a value of $13.95 and the best part is you get to pick which refills you'd like....either the 12x12 page refill pack of the divided 4x6 refill pack. Tune in tomorrow for another great featured product.

Day 4: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Another day, another post about another great product that we carry here at the store that I simply adore....the Uni-ball Gel Pens from Sanford. These pens are absolutely amazing. They come in six different colours...gold, silver, black, red, blue and my personal favourite, white. These pens are great for journalling on your layouts or simply for adding a sentiment to your cards. I use them to add faux stitching or doodling to my layouts as well.

The ink flows from them so nicely and they last a while. They dry pretty quickly which for me is a big deal as I have horrible luck when it comes to ink and smudging. With these pens I don't have that worry.

So come in to the store and give them a try. They are on sale until February 14th as part of our for the love of scrapbooking sale, for buy one get one 50% off regular price. Don't forget to check back again tomorrow for another great sale item.

Day 3: For the Love of Scrapbooking

On this third day of our For the Love of Scrapbooking sale, I'd like to tell you a little bit about Zva Creative. Zva Creative is a manufacturer that makes plenty of bling. This is one of my favourite bling companies and let's face it every girl needs her bling bling. Zva Creative makes flourishes out of crystals and pearls in numerous sizes and colours. They also make crystal words and alphabets.

These are great embellishments for adding a pop to your layouts or cards. They also offer a great value as none of their flourishes are over $5.00. You can buy them in singles or packs of two and they are very easy to apply to your layouts or cards.

So come in and check out this great company and save yourself some money at the same time. Up until February 14th all Zva Creative products are 20% off regular price. Don't forget to check back tomorrow where I'll let you in on another great product that we absolutely love.

For today's featured item, we've chosen one of our favourite manufacturer's here at Simply Scrapping. Many of you know that Stephanie and I absolutely love Bo Bunny...it is by far my personal favourite line of paper and embellishments. Bo Bunny always seems to bring together the most amazing colour combinations in all of their lines. Their patterns never overwhelm and they seem to co-ordinate together so easily.

Bo Bunny also provides a great selection of embellishments to help you add that little something something to any layout. From rub-ons to ribbon to brads to chipboard, there is always excellent selection for all of their different lines.

Day 1: For the Love of Scrapbooking

Well, it's the first official day of our For the Love of Scrapbooking (or cardmaking) Sale. Stephanie and I have come up with a list of 14 items that we absolutely love and simply cannot scrapbook without. These 14 items will be on sale everyday up until February 14th. You can see the list of items on the blog post below this one.

Each day up until Valentine's day, we are going to pick one of these 14 items and promote it here on the blog. The first item that I'd like to tell you about is Zip Dry Glue. This is the most amazing crafting glue EVER. It is made by Beacon Adhesives and Stephanie and I both agree that this is one product that we cannot scrapbook without.

One of the many things I love about it is that it is sort of like rubber cement glue in that if you use to much or some squirts out the side, you can wipe it away and it will not leave behind any type of stain or mark. Another bonus for me is that this glue works on pretty much anything. I use it for photos, paper, chipboard, metal, ribbon, flowers and more. It literally is an all purpose glue. If you've ever done one of our make n' takes at any of the shows, you've heard us go on and on about it there too.

So up until February 14th, you can pick up a bottle of Zip Dry Adhesive in the store for $6.95...that's a saving of $2 per bottle. Don't forget to check back tomorrow to see the next item in our favourite's list.
